Welcome, Mutsu City Delegation! Port Angeles, Wash. – A Mutsu City delegation comprised of students and adult chaperones – teachers and guides – arrives in Port Angeles Wednesday, January 4 and will stay through Sunday, January 8 Stevens Middle School teacher and organizer Stacey Sanders has reported.

The Mutsu City guests, junior high students with the Mutsu City Student Ambassadors program, stay with Port Angeles host families during their visit. This year marks the 21st anniversary of the Port Angeles-Mutsu City sister city and sister school relationship.

The group arrives at Stevens Middle School late afternoon Wednesday for a welcome assembly and to meet host families.

The Japanese students will attend class and activities with student hosts and will present Culture Fairs at Stevens and Dry Creek Elementary Schools.

On Thursday, January 5 Port Angeles and Mutsu City students will work on a presentation expected to result in a joint statement for future urban development in cooperation between the two cities.

During the group’s visit in January 2016, the students from both schools issued a joint statement in a ceremony held at Port Angeles City Council Chambers celebrating the 20th anniversary of their sister city relationship and a commitment to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two schools.  2016 Statement
