Thank you, Lower Elwha Klallam Tribefor 19 Years of Potlatch!Port Angeles, Wash. - As always, it was an evening of food, dance, drumming, gifts and celebration of education and students’ success. The theme was Uniting Communities, Uniting Generations.

Accompanying photo shows Gillian Elofson wrapping Dry Creek Elementary Principal Jay Sparks in a blanket. Left to right, are Shania Foster, Elofson, Sparks, Elivira Tinnoco, Sonja Elofson, Al Charles, Craig Devlin and Ryan Stevens.  

Gillian Elofson, Shania Foster and Elivira Tinnoco are students. The others were called on to serve as witnesses at the Potlatch. Several work for the Port Angeles School District: Sonja Elofson teaches math at Lincoln High School; Craig Devlin is a resource specialist at Port Angeles High School; Ryan Stevens is the principal at Stevens Middle School. Al Charles is a LEKT tribal member and elder. David Bingham, Crescent Schools District superintendent, was also a witness but is not pictured.
